
LENOVO LAUNCHES 7 NEW PCs
Chinese manufacturer lenovo has launched seven new personal computers,including one in all-in one category.It has announced plans to introduce 50 new products in 2009 to strengthen its product protofolio. The new product line-up caters to a broad segment of consumers-from lenovo C300,the ultra-sleek,affordable,all-in-one pc,to the trendy,thin and light lenovo ideapad U350,Y450 and Y550 note-books that are loaded with new features, to the competitively priced lenovo G series note books.

TATA POWER INKS DEAL WITH OPG
Tata power company has signed two contracts with the OPG group of chennai.Under the first contract , Tata power will provide operations and maintenance services to OPG power generation pvt. Ltd. for its 80 MW coal-based power plant located at Gummidipoondi near chennai. under the second contract,Tata power will provide project management services to OPG power Gujarath Pvt. Ltd. for its upcoming 150*2 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Gujarat.

BSNL JOINS HANDS WITH MICROSOFT
Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited has joined a hands with
Microsoft to launch 'BSNL Managed SaaS'(software as a service)
in India.The partnership will enable BSNL to offer hosted solutions on
core productivity,collaboration and line of business applications to business
customers.BSNL also launched 'Managed Business Mail' (MBM) as its first SaaS offering that moves beyond conventional e-mail options to empower business with tools to increase productivity,mobility and collaboration.The unique feature of BSNL's MBM will be its availability on smartphones of any service provider.
AIRTEL ,HTC INTRODUCE ANDROID-POWERED SMARTPHONE

Bharati airtel has joined hands with Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer HTC corporation to launch India's first 'Andriod'-powered mobile phone-HTC Magic. Google's Andriod is an open-source platforn running on the linux operating system,which will provide users with a broad spectrum of mobile applications and services.
MARUTI TO LAUNCH CNG Cars
Maruti Suzuki has stopped working on LPG models as it would roll out CNG variants of the entire range of its cars from early 2010,the first of which could be its highest selling model Alto. The company would start introducing 'Cleaner-fuel' cars once the distribution network of CNG improves across the country starting with main cities.
TVS MOTOR LAUNCHES APACHE RTR 180

TVS motor company has launched its high-performance bike, Apache RTR 180. the new bike is equiped with electric and kick start options has 'over square' engine programmed to give 17.3 PS of power , making it one of the most powerful bikes in its class on Indian roads.The 180 cc bike has top speed of 125 km an hour with a 0-60 km an hour timing of just 4.15 seconds.

RELIANCE RETAIL STARTS JWELLERY VENTURE
Reliance jewels,the jewellery retail format of Anil Ambani -led Reliance Retail ltd. is planning to open 20-25 new stores across
the country during the current financial year 2009-2010. Reliance
jewels currently runs 12 outlets across the country ,including nine standalone stores and three shop-in-shops.The company is keen to tap markets in both major metors and Tiper-II cities.

In the Human Development Index(HDI),the United Nations Developement Program(UNDP) Statistical update 2008 ranks India at 132 out of 179 countries .At 116 out of the 157,India also ranks poorly in the Gender Development Index. While India falls under the “Medium Human Development” category.HDI is based on purchasing power parity,life expectancy at birth ,and education levels.
